Cold, Snow.....last one?

With all the cold and snow we have gotten....Florida looks better. Jamie took this pic of me last week when I was there.
It was also my birthday on the 19th. Here is a pic of Lauren and I..very young.
Here is a pic of my boyfriend too. He cleans up well. He is the only man I know who regularly goes from Wranglers to a suit. One of the things I love about him.
Emili and I went to my Dads for Christmas this weekend. My Jeep went in the ditch. It was pretty scary. We are all sick of snow and weather, but at least we were warm in the woods. Here are some pics at my Dads. One of the pics is my little brother and his dog, Snoopy. Emili and I were outside some of today, but my toes were numb and we needed to come in. I am sure I will miss my family, but I am pretty sure I will not miss the snow. We really enjoyed ourselves this weekend and it was great to see my family. Sundays are meant to be days to watch football and talk. Great, Great, Great weekend. Sorry for the randomness of this post... it is my ADHD kicking in..jk

Moving and various pics

Just in case you have not heard, I am moving.
I will be moving March 1st to the sunshine state. That is right, once again, I will be living in Flordia. My cousin, Amber, is moving with me.
Anyway, here are some pics that have recently been taken... I will not miss the winter.

Cold

I was just in FL this weekend. I had a wonderful time with a wonderful man. This morning it was only 50 when we woke up. At least it was not that much of a shock when I came home to 30 degrees. Here is a picture of Jamie and one pic of me this morning..... Tampa Bay in the background.

Time and balance

Now that I am done with school, I have some free time for the first time in many, many years. My time is usually consumed with mundane household tasks, but it is really nice to have the time for once. My planner is not that full... no more scheduling bathroom breaks:) I have tons of stuff to do this morning, but instead I thought I would sit at my computer and tell you all how unbalanced my life has become. Sometimes balance is not the best thing if you want to stand.

I have so many special people in my life. Recently there has been an addition to wonderful people. I do not want to post a long drawn out description of this great guy I met...... but here is a picture. Till the next time.

Bing Crosby and the Mitchell Boys Choir: Swinging on a Star

Moonbeams

Today I was thinking about my Grandfather. I love him so much. He taught me so much growing up. He made me the person I am today. I remember being a yound child and him singing to me. He used to sing swinging on a star to me at night when we would lay on the couch. In the morning we would get up and do chores on the farm. I miss those days with Pops. Here is a pic of us at Christmas this last year. I love you Pops!

Leaves in the fall

One of the best things about living in WI is the change of seasons. Fall is soooooooooo pretty. Fun things always seem to take place. Emi and I are going to the apple ochard tommorrow. The trees are turning and the crisp air has set in. I am planning on jumping in a few leaf piles this fall. Below is a video from 06 or 07.. not quite sure.
This weekend we are planning on carving some pumpkins and eating the seeds. I am sure it will be fun. I missed carving pumpkins last year when I was in Japan. Here are some pictures of the leaves turning that I took last year in Japan.

Here is Emili and I in the fall.... last year. Gotta love the leaves

2 far to the left... or 2 far to the right !

So Obama or McCain?
I went to my Mom's house tonight to pick up Emili. It is Monday. Anyway, I noticed that she had an Obama '08 sticker on her car. Well, needless to say we talked :) politics. She stated,"Megan, you are a bigot." She later retracted those words, but it is really easy to get her going.... sorry mom. We live in Republican land;and I for many years was a liberal democrat as well as my mother. With age and experiences, my mind has been swayed towards the right. I am not going to get all political, but I can say that this election will prove very interesting. Either way, I am not telling anyone how my final vote will fall. I respect every ones right to their beliefs, but my mind is still up in the air.
As I was driving home I took this picture of the road... so to the left or to the right? Can you really be in the middle, without a collision? I wish the world was as simple as too black or too white.
Keep preaching Mom... someday I may drive on the left again. :)

Here is a picture of Emili and her friend Ethan with pumpkins that she got at Grandmas tonight. Of course she had to have the big one.

Emili and I ..... rainy!

Rainy bike ride

Today was an awesome day. The weather sucked, but we made the best of it. Emili and I took a long bike ride in the rain. Here are some pics of the little tike on the bike. Then we came home(very wet/cold) and got some stuff done. Some cooking, cleaning, laundry and all that jazz. We even cleaned out the garage.

canopy walk

Another thing I did while in Florida, was discover new things. Most people think of Florida as the beach. On the contrary, the state has a very diverse landscape. I went on a canopy walk.... with someone very special.:)

Wherever you go, there you are

Ten years ago, when I moved from a small town, my friends made me a scrapbook. Inside the book where pictures of us having fun in varoius spots. Inside the cover, they wrote this, "Thou you may travel far and wide, Never forget who loves you!... WE DO. Wherever you go, there you are." I often think how my life has changed in the time since those pictures and the book. I have traveled far and wide, and never miss coming home to those who love me.
Last night I returned from Flordia. The drive was long, but very worth the trip. Here are some pics of the trip. The first pic is of us at home... someone just sent it to me

REALITY

Reality, in everyday usage, means "the state of things as they actually exist".
People often say, "I need to escape from reality and go on vacation". Well, it is still reality. Our world is so far gone as far as what is "real". This holiday has been a wonderful dose of reality for me. I have rediscovered myself in many ways. Self reflection has been key on this trip. Often I get to caught up in "who I am".... I forget all the basic princples of "who I REALLY am". I forget all the people that have helped me be who I am today...... you know who you are. I forget to be thankful for each day and the blessings that God has bestowed upon me.
I have not forgotten, and I vow to remeber how wonderful life is.

Simple done well, is better than complicated done poorly!

This morning I woke up to another day of beauty.
If I have learned anything on this vacation, it is to RELAX.
I love to hang out with Amber because she reminds me that the world does not have to be so complicated. The sun will rise and fall, people will come and go, and days are meant to be enjoyed. I know not everday is a perfect day, but this vacation has come pretty close to perfection.
As I am typing this, my suitcase is a huge mess..... and I do not care. My hair is a knotted mess... I do not care. My ass is still huge.... I do not care.
I know that this may shock and alarm those of you who know me:) I have even been late to scheduled plans:) What a change. The world functions at a slower pace down here. It is refreshing. When I moved from Milwaukee to Lomira my world slowed emensily. This area of Flordia is really on Mexican time(sorry Lauren).
I guess I have finally put the stresses of work, life, and time into a large ball and threw it out into the ocean. I feel the best I have in years. Anyway... off to another day of bliss.
