Time and balance

Now that I am done with school, I have some free time for the first time in many, many years. My time is usually consumed with mundane household tasks, but it is really nice to have the time for once. My planner is not that full... no more scheduling bathroom breaks:) I have tons of stuff to do this morning, but instead I thought I would sit at my computer and tell you all how unbalanced my life has become. Sometimes balance is not the best thing if you want to stand.

Bing Crosby and the Mitchell Boys Choir: Swinging on a Star

Moonbeams

Today I was thinking about my Grandfather. I love him so much. He taught me so much growing up. He made me the person I am today. I remember being a yound child and him singing to me. He used to sing swinging on a star to me at night when we would lay on the couch. In the morning we would get up and do chores on the farm. I miss those days with Pops. Here is a pic of us at Christmas this last year. I love you Pops!

Leaves in the fall

One of the best things about living in WI is the change of seasons. Fall is soooooooooo pretty. Fun things always seem to take place. Emi and I are going to the apple ochard tommorrow. The trees are turning and the crisp air has set in. I am planning on jumping in a few leaf piles this fall. Below is a video from 06 or 07.. not quite sure.
This weekend we are planning on carving some pumpkins and eating the seeds. I am sure it will be fun. I missed carving pumpkins last year when I was in Japan. Here are some pictures of the leaves turning that I took last year in Japan.

2 far to the left... or 2 far to the right !

So Obama or McCain?
I went to my Mom's house tonight to pick up Emili. It is Monday. Anyway, I noticed that she had an Obama '08 sticker on her car. Well, needless to say we talked :) politics. She stated,"Megan, you are a bigot." She later retracted those words, but it is really easy to get her going.... sorry mom. We live in Republican land;and I for many years was a liberal democrat as well as my mother. With age and experiences, my mind has been swayed towards the right. I am not going to get all political, but I can say that this election will prove very interesting. Either way, I am not telling anyone how my final vote will fall. I respect every ones right to their beliefs, but my mind is still up in the air.
As I was driving home I took this picture of the road... so to the left or to the right? Can you really be in the middle, without a collision? I wish the world was as simple as too black or too white.
Keep preaching Mom... someday I may drive on the left again. :)

Here is a picture of Emili and her friend Ethan with pumpkins that she got at Grandmas tonight. Of course she had to have the big one.

Emili and I ..... rainy!

Rainy bike ride

Today was an awesome day. The weather sucked, but we made the best of it. Emili and I took a long bike ride in the rain. Here are some pics of the little tike on the bike. Then we came home(very wet/cold) and got some stuff done. Some cooking, cleaning, laundry and all that jazz. We even cleaned out the garage.

canopy walk

Another thing I did while in Florida, was discover new things. Most people think of Florida as the beach. On the contrary, the state has a very diverse landscape. I went on a canopy walk.... with someone very special.:)

Wherever you go, there you are

Ten years ago, when I moved from a small town, my friends made me a scrapbook. Inside the book where pictures of us having fun in varoius spots. Inside the cover, they wrote this, "Thou you may travel far and wide, Never forget who loves you!... WE DO. Wherever you go, there you are." I often think how my life has changed in the time since those pictures and the book. I have traveled far and wide, and never miss coming home to those who love me.
Last night I returned from Flordia. The drive was long, but very worth the trip. Here are some pics of the trip. The first pic is of us at home... someone just sent it to me
