Does money really grow on trees?

Why do I feel so guilty for buying a new car? I can afford it. I work hard.. I guess. Since I have been back from Japan, I have only been working a 40 hour work week (42 last week). I am use to working an excess of 60 hours a week, so this feels like a vacation. I guess I feel like I am not working hard enough to enjoy such nice things. I am not sure if this guilt comes from the philosophy I grew up with. When growing up, it was stated, "she is a good worker". Therefore, making me a better human being in some eyes. My job does not define me..... but people always ask.... so what do you do? Like work is life. It is the universal American question. I know that I should think that I deserve these things.... but I am still unsure.
My mother once told me that she did not have money to even buy a coffee when she was in college. Should I really be spending money on driving something nice, when(I could be helping single moms)? BTW, My mom is a huge advocate for me having things..sorry mom.
My father is so cheap that he use to squirt McDonald's packets of ketchup into the bottle at home:)... seriously. I think that almost all the guilt comes from him.
Growing up, we did not have many material things(except the undying love of my mother and family). I guess this is another reason why I feel like I do not deserve to have things. I never wanted to ask for anything. I may have, but I know I never wanted too. I have been working since I was old enough to babysit. So why all this guilt???? Help!
