Well Wednesday was a blast. I gave two presentations on living in the USA at some universities. Then at night, we went out for dinner and saw a play. We saw "Animal Farm". It was sooooooooooooo good. It was put on by the London Theater Company.
Animal Farm is a novella by George Orwell, and is the most famous satirical allegory of Soviet totalitarianism. Published in 1945, the book reflects events leading up to and during the Stalin era. Orwell, a democratic socialist, and a member of the Independent Labour Party for many years, was a critic of Stalin, and was suspicious of Moscow-directed Stalinism after his experiences with the NKVD during the Spanish Civil War.
The novel was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels (1923 to present)[1] and was number 31 on the Modern Library List of Best 20th-Century Novels.
Today Mary, Shingi, and I went out to this great Thai restaurant. It was the best food I have every had. We did a little shopping, and then we drove to the top of the mountain. It was a really great day. We then came back the house and I helped Mary with two classes of kids. We made Christmas decorations. I hope all is well in the states.
